Missing Power Manager in Gnome Quick Settings

So, two months ago after the release of Gnome 44, I noticed fellow Linux users flexing their Gnome Quick settings area and what captured my attention was was the Bluetooth and power manager especially how it was easy to mage the two from quick settings.

When my distribution (Manjaro) released an update with Gnome 44 I did not waste a single second to upgrade but to my dismay power manager was strangely missing, i had to reboot twice just to make sure everything was okay.

At first it did not bother me that much but with time i had to figure out what went wrong and where did it go wrong. After a few clicks on the web I came up with following.

The service was not enabled and these are the steps I took to bring it back to life:

systemctl unmask power-profiles-daemon.service

systemctl start power-profiles-daemon.service

If everything went successfully you can check which mode is in use. There are generally three modes; Performance, Balanced and Power Saver.

powerprofilesctl

You can change the selected profile profile by running:

powerprofile set power-saver

If everything went on smoothly, Congratulations! I'm glad I could help...

If everything went against you, I'd suggest you check out Gnome power-profile-daemon's github page for detailed explanations and everything else I deliberately left out.

Thanks for reading
